While t-shirts can convey a message to the masses, we often do not think of sneakers as capable of the same thing. Artist Van Taylor, however, is lending his talents to custom designs that blow the doors off that theory completely.

His creations for the Obama campaign and Darfur Now are incredible, photo-stealing works of art that draw conversation wherever they go. These kicks are certainly not cheap — setting you back at least $500 — but we’d love to see more custom designs out there pushing some good initiatives.
