summer high line

Wednesday night June 25th at the IAC Building on the west side in NYC, Friends of the High Line hosted its annual summer benefit.  The evening’s excited guests were invited to see fist-time renderings of the High Line project. It’s brilliant! As a true NYer it is so wonderful to see how excited the guests were to see the final stages of Diller Scofidio & Refro’s architectural landscape and operation being created. The completion of this should be done by the end of 2009. The Highline will run from Gansevoort Street up to 30th street on the Westside.

The evening honors where Hermine Riegerl Heller, David Heller, Sukey & Mike Novogratz. Diane Von Furstenberg, a NY resident, was one of the evenings first speakers. Robert Hammond, the co-founder of the High Line project explained the future plans. You could tell by his smile how excited and energized he is with the structure.  I LOVE NY’s High Line!

My Parents Forced Veganism on Me

If vegan parents don’t “force” their vegan values and beliefs on their children, society won’t hesitate to “force” standard American values instead.
