The environmentally-themed Wall-E held off Angelina Jolie’s Wanted at the box office to bring in $62.5 million. I happened to catch the flick last night and thought it was pretty awesome. Wind turbines being overtaken by grabage piles in height, a plant that can mysteriously survive freezing in open space, fatty fat fatty humans, and the cutest robot since Johnny 5. Go check it out.
Rock group 30 Seconds to Mars joined up with Habitat For Humanity yesterday to help build a new home and raise funds for the organization. Through a series of auctions to allow fans to “lend a hand” with the band, the group raised over $10,000 for habitat. Nice work, guys! [Read more...]
Prince Charles is continuing his environmental march with the launch of a new property fund worth close to $2 billion. The fund will invest in sustainable building projects, presumably throughout the world. The Prince’s charity, the Foundation for the Built Environment, will be a consultant.
