We talked about Miley Cyrus’s new eco-themed song from her upcoming album earlier — but I finally had the opportunity to listen to it and guess what? My ears didn’t bleed!
Admittedly, this is a super-poppy song — with a few “C’mon!” shouts thrown in — but I give props to whomever came up with the wording . It ain’t easy putting “global warming” and “going green” into a beat that will actually not cause kids to hit “next” on their iPods. The only other artist to successfully manage a green theme in her music was Sheryl Crow with “Shine Over Babylon” — and even that one almost made me slit my wrists from depression.
So, hey, kudos to Miley. You’ve avoided joining the ranks of Madonna and Greenpeace with “Crappiest Green Songs That Hate Your Ears”.
