Miley Cyrus – With Great Power Comes Great Responsibility

Can this teen queen’s influence get any bigger? At only 15, Ms. Cyrus has her second #1 album (her first without her alter-ego of Hannah Montana). Millions of tweens idolize Miley, watching her every move. Though she’s had her trip-ups along the road to role-model-worthiness (see Vanity Fair photo scandal), her future is ripe with the possibility to influence an entire generation’s views. I, for one, am glad to see that she’s attempting to take this role seriously and do some green good (note her Eco-Anthem on said #1 album).
This week Miley had her first eBay auction. Not only did she reduce her wardrobe by allowing some loving fans to get their hands on the goods, but she donated some of the nearly $60K raised to her children’s charity.
Earlier this year, she even named two Bald Eagles (“Hope” & “Tennessee” – you’re officially a superfan if you know why they have those names) who were released into the wild last week by the American Eagle Foundation (unrelated to the clothing line).
It’s refreshing to hear positive stories about Hollywood’s influential young stars – keep ‘em coming, Miley.
Now, the young vegetarian has just gotta start eating her vegetables!
