Shaquille O’Neal Plays For The Green Team With A Mercedes Smart Car

All seven feet and one inch of Shaquille O’Neal was photographed recently in a Mercedes Smart Car (yes, he fit - they’re reportedly quite roomy!), and though it’s not apparent if he bought it or used it for a fun photo-op it certainly wouldn’t hurt for him to add it to his line up of gas guzzling SUVs.
Treehugger reported earlier this year about Shaq’s monster carbon footprint; he spends $23,000 per month on gasoline (what the? how is that possible?), or about 15 times more than the average American. Let’s hope Shaq has smartened up and did purchase the 33mpg city/41 mpg highway, ultra low emission adorable little “four-wheeler”. It’s a start!

There’s NO WAY he fits in that car without it having been modified to fit his frame. I’m 6′3 and couldn’t squeeze behind the steering wheel when I tried to take it for a test drive a few months ago. Interesting that in the European version, I had all the leg room in the world…
