Eliza Dushku Angers Fans After Revealing Her Love For Hunting
Filed under: animals, film-tv, not green, television — parrish @ 10:07 am
Ya’ll, Eliza Dushku just went from pretty hot to kinda disgusting!
A couple night ago on Jimmy Kimmel Live Dushku revealed that she loves to hunt elk and deer. Not only did she brag about it, but she also showed off her bow and arrow skills and boasted about killing a deer in Oklahoma last Christmas. WTF, Eliza? Why are you such a jerk?
Even the studio audience turned on Dushku forcing her to joke, “My mother called me herself and said, ‘You’re a liberal from New England, what the ‘f’ are you doing in Oklahoma shooting things.” Backpeddling later she said, “When you’re in a relationship with somebody you have to, like, experience things that they do. A lot of people eat meat… and I eat what I kill.”
Obviously Eliza has totally pissed off PETA who’s asking the ”star” to drop the bow and arrow act. A spokeswoman for the organization says, “Slaying bloodthirsty vampires on Buffy is brave, but slaying innocent animals where they live and raise their families is cowardly and cruel. Eliza is sorely out of step with the rest of the country; 95 per cent of Americans oppose hunting.”
So there you have it — Eliza Dushku has made my naughty list for the year. On the count of three….BOOOOO!!!

Her behavior is revolting. One of the main reasons why hunters have been trying to gain permission to kill wolves again out west and in Alaska is because they want to artificially increase the size of the elk population. Same with coyotes in Maine, the hunters there want to increase the deer herd. Hunters like to pretend that they need to kill deer, elk and other prey animals because otherwise they’d over-populate but if that was really true they’d just let the predators like wolves and mountain lions play their role instead of wanted to kill them. And just because a hunter eats his or her prey, that doesn’t justify it. There’s plenty of plant-based sources of protein that are healthier and more humane and sustainable then going out with a gun in a gas-guzzling truck and killing elk.
it is gross but in my opinion just as bad (or maybe not as bad) as eating animals who spent their lives in a factory farm in utter dire pain.
This may not make me very popular, but I have a much different opinion on hunting. Deer have become grossly overpopulated due to massive suburban sprawl crowding out their natural preditors, so over populated in fact that they kill more people in the US than all other animals combined (including death by allergic reaction to insect stings). I believe that if you hunt during regulated hunting seasons, that are set up based on breeding and rearing times, and only hunt what you will eat and eat what you hunt then there is nothing morally wrong with it. It is a much more natural way to eat meat than raising it on a feed lot and force feeding food that it is not supposed to eat. Everything is food for something else, even humans once we die.
“Deer have become grossly overpopulated due to massive suburban sprawl crowding out their natural pred[a]tors…”
…and their natural habitats. whoops.
seriously though, how is it fair when you hide camouflaged in the woods with a WEAPON and bait?? i mean, could you run and catch it? kill it with your bare hands? i don’t think so.
Well, here in MI if the deer population were not reduced by hunting there would be a massive explosion in numbers followed by mass starvation. The available range has been reduced by low level urban sprawl tus leading to overpopulation.
We are predators, no different than wolves. We used guns instead of running in packs. We both control populations of deer.
As it has been since the beginning, so shall it be until the end of time.
Actually jamie lynn, deer are much more resilient to habitat loss than their predators. As Robert Tulloch said, in MI where my family is also from, hunting keeps the population in balance when done responsibly and sustainably.
Hil & Robert hit the nail on the head.
PETA is full of it. I don’t know where they get their facts. Saying that 95% of Americans oppose hunting is grossly exaggerated. That’s as easy as saying that 95% of Americans believe that what PETA is doing is counter-productive.
I support Eliza on this one. She has no shame in what she does. Unlike these PETA supporters who’ll glady eat some inhumanely prepared food and wear sweatshop made clothes. Leave the girl alone and think about yourselves for one minute.
yeah everybody, you encourage e.dushku and she’s gonna start shouting people very soon .Do not forget she is originally albanian and there they still shoot animals and people.
I want to see the publication that says 95% of American are against hunting…I think it is safe to say that is inaccurate. Hunting has been a right given to us since the inception of man. It is a Darwin issue. Some people are made to be meat eaters some aren’t. Anyone for fishing in front of PETA headquarters (anyone from Hampton Roads, VA knows what I mean)??
And she uses a bow and arrow…I think that is awesome.
As long as she eats what she kills, and doesn’t hunt anything illegally, she’s fine in my book. I hate the thought of hunting, but it’s better than most people, who do absolutely nothing with what they kill!
I think all you who eat meat and are complaining about animals getting killed are just self righteous assholes. In terms of the meat you eat someone kills the animals. So come on all you self righteous assholes get a fucking life. Leave Eliza alone.

Nothing is More sexy than a woman that not only loves to hunt but actually does it.
The whole situation is ridiculous. The girl went hunting, and ate what she killed. If I ate meat, I’d prefer it that way, too. The animals who are raised commercially are given growth hormones and god knows what else, aside of being treated inhumanely, allowed to eat whatever pesticide-covered grass is growing, and then being processed before they even make it to the grocery store. It’s healthier to eat meat fresh, and it would be better for the environment if we stopped mass-producing and mass-slaughtering animals. I’m a vegetarian and former member of PETA (until I learned that they’re anti-pitbull) and I haven’t got a single issue with Ms. Dushku doing what she did. Rather see stories about her hunting than being coked out of her mind like half the rest of Hollywood.
The killing of an animal is horrible and I think its terrible to hunt an animal purely for fun but hunting it and eating it is a totally different story as long as the animal isn’t endangered and there killed in a humane way then I don’t really see a problem. The thing that really pisses me off is that people are all against it when its a fluffy cute animal being killed but all for it when its a spider or a rat, there still living things that have feelings!.
I eat meat, if I didn’t then that would have been another animal dieing for nothing. If you don’t want to eat meat then that’s your decision But just remember if everyone thought the same and didn’t eat meat then no one would keep cows, sheep or chickens as there would be no money to be made out of it. if farmers didn’t look after them they would slowly die out because those animals in particular depend on humans to feed, water and protect them, not only do humans do this but they in-fact prolong their life because they stop predators in there tracks and destroy the animals that carry diseases which could easily spread to the other animals and kill them.
