George Clooney Throwing More Cash Into Pitt’s Green Charity

Back in April, actor George Clooney anted up $300,000 for Brad Pitt’s Make It Right NOLA foundation. The organization, as we’ve beaten into your heads repeatedly, was created to build 150 sustainable, eco-friendly homes in New Orleans’ Lower 9th Ward. Clooney’s donation covered the creation of two homes. Currently, the group has achieved funding for 84 homes.
Now, Clooney is expressing interest in adding to that number with a declaration that he’ll be pumping more money into Pitt’s charity. “I’ve bought a couple of those houses already that he’s building,” said Clooney of Pitt. “You can build a house for $150,000 (£75,000), which is amazing. So I bought two of them and plan on buying more as they’re doing an amazing thing there.”
Just how much the 47-year-old actor plans on donating is unclear, but apparently he feels that $150K a house is a pretty cheap way to make a difference in someone’s life. Unlike Roseanne Barr, he also has nothing but praise and admiration for what Pitt and Jolie are doing to make a difference in the world. “There is a tendency to make fun of people who get involved in these sorts of things,” he said. “Brad went there, builds houses, he can do a lot of other things with his time. He and Angie really put their money where their mouth is. I’m always very impressed by them.”
