It's as bad of a diagnosis someone can get, HIV would be better in terms of treatment and survival (as noted above) but we have hope. I don't know Patrick Swayzes type of pancreatic cancer (there are several kinds, all bad) but some are way slower than others (which kill relatively quick when finally found). I realize he doe not have to worry about getting cancer from smoking so to speak but it seems foolish to add the problems smoking causes to pancreatic cancer and the treatment of this disease when prolonging life and increasing the quality of that time is the main course of therepy...smoking seems redundant. It's not because the grass gets burned; it's from all of the chemicals in the cigarettes. This is a sad and scary (and obvious) message.
