Pierce Brosnan Says His Kids Are Composting Pros

Pierce Brosnan recently revealed to Reader’s Digest magazine how his childhood without a father made him the family man he is today. The former 007 has five children, three from his previous marriage to the late Cassandra Harris, and two from his wife, Keely Shaye Smith. Pierce, 55, said: “I want my boys to feel like they belong and know the love of family. I’m very aware of how precious the time with my children is.”
As we’ve previously covered here on the Razz, Brosnan is also heavily involved in environmental initiatives — having given away over $1 million dollars to various organizations of the years. He also brings that passion home and tries to instill green values into his children.
“We have a compost bin. The boys know how to compost all the food,” he told the magazine. “And it goes into the garden.”
As someone who at one time never composted, today I’m bummed that I didn’t learn earlier. The amount of waste you save from going into the garbage is incredible — and it’s beneficial for your garden or outside projects as well. It’s great to see Pierce and Keely embedding those values into their kids at an early stage.

[...] One actor we can safely call an eco-lover is Pierce Brosnan. In a recent interview with Reader’s Digest magazine, he shared how the absence of a father in his childhood made him a family man he is today. The former James Bond has 5 kids and wants his “boys to feel that they have a very loving family”. By the way, the doting dad realises the importance of time spent with his children and continues to do so despite busy schedules. Coming to Brosnan’s environmental initiatives, we are aware of the monetary contributions he has been making to various eco-benefit organisations (buzz is that the figure is over 1 million dollars). But charity begins at home. No one understands it better than Brosnan who carries his passion for nature even to his home. In his words, “We have a compost bin and my boys know how to use it. And they do compost all the food regularly, from where it goes into the garden.” Wow, isn’t that food for thought! I’m sure not many of us knew of this wonderful way to stay eco-friendly.
