kate hudson shampooAs reported earlier, Kate Hudson and her business partner David Babaii are being sued by 220 Labs over their new eco-friendly shampoo “David Babaii for WildAid“. The company claims that Hudson was sent a sample from their own mix and that she then took it and went wild with her own formula.

Hudson’s shampoo is blended with volcanic ash, amongst other ingredients — and that’s the main problem. 200 Labs claims that the volcanic ash was their own secret ingredient. <Insert dramatic crescendo here>

Hudson, Babaii and their current manufacturer, Universal, have been charged misappropriation of trade secrets, breach of contract, breach of confidence and fraud in the legal documents.

With the media all over this, Hudson has understandably not been pleased with the suit or the accusations swirling. A spokesperson said the following on her behalf, “Kate does not know the plaintiffs and has never met with them or spoken with them. Her representatives believe that the claims are baseless and without merit and (they) intend to vigorously defend the lawsuit.”

Meanwhile, 200 Labs in seeking an injunction competitors’ use of their products — which we assume includes “David Babaii for WildAid”.

Stay tuned…this one is just getting bubbly.
