If she wants to contribute to the cause of suffering animals she should follow her heart that way. Perhaps she would develop more compassion as a result of her involvement, but I'd rather not see her working for some cause she doesn't care about. Whatever philanthropy she gets into, I only hope she puts her whole heart into it. As an aside, I am a bit surprised by the Queen's emphasis on avoiding comparisons to Diana, if only because it's so in character with the person we came to know in the film "The Queen." I suppose it makes sense from Her Majesty's perspective, but it is not a popular attitude. Diana was a genuine woman with a very open heart, whose personal character stood in stark contrast to the Royals. The last thing Her Majesty wants is another one of those. Still, if Kate doesn't show some kind of character the people are unlikely to warm to her. Kate should choose her own course.
