Spies scoping out photos from the latest Transformers sequel, Revenge of the Fallen, have spotted what appears to be a production Chevy Volt on set! This is big news — not only because GM has a lot rolling on this electric hope — but also since the sheet wasn’t supposed to be pulled off the final model of the car until later this year.
Not only did AutoBlogGreen do some photo comparison of some Volt characteristics already leaked to the public, but a video from the movie set also surfaced showing “Volt” badges on the car and confirming earlier suspicions.
The car itself looks really nice — with a a full fiberglass top that extends the length of the vehicle. As we mentioned in our green car preview, the Volt is expected to have a range of about 40 miles on electric power alone and over 350 miles with it’s on-board small gasoline range-extender.
Commentators are confirming that the Volt appears to be one of the good guys in the film (with GM vehicles getting the Autobot label and other non-brands going Decepticon).
