Talk Show Host Jerry Springer Saves Pig From Slaughterhouse

Filed under: animals — Michael Parrish DuDell @ 9:48 am

This little piggy went to market, this little piggy stayed at home, this little piggy had roast beef, this little piggy…went to Jerry Springer’s house?

The once mayor of Cincinnati turned trashy talk show host Jerry Springer took a break from redneck refereeing for an afternoon to help out a little piggy in need. The National Enquirer is reporting that Springer adopted a pig at the Los Angeles County Fair after he learned she was days away from becoming merely another pork product.

Jerry said: “They were going to slaughter Bella. So I bought her. She should live about 25 years, so I’m going to put her in my will.”

We here at Ecorazzi think adopting animals is just swell. If you’d like to foster an adorable little farm animal but lack the space, visit Farm Sanctuary.org and check out the many ways to get involved. Now everyone on the count of three: JERRY, JERRY, JERRY!!!!

  1. Who would have thought he’d be into adopting and saving pigs. How cute.

  2. awwww!!

  3. Who’da thunkit?

    Good going, Jerry.

  4. My former opinion of him has certainly risen - Saving animals from death… (slaughter) is certainly the right thing to do.
