New Jame Bond Trailer Give Us First Real Look At Eco Villain
Filed under: green and famous — Michael Andre d'Estries @ 6:41 pm
“Eco Villains” are the new bad guys of the movie cinema world. Just ask James Bond. In his upcoming film, The Quantum of Solace, Bond is faced with a baddie posing as an eco-entreprenuer hell-bent on controlling the water supply of Bolivia.
Naughty, naughty.
Obviously, we’re psyched because a.) Daniel Craig as Bond kicks ass and b.) greenwashing has never looked so evil. There are also the obvious plugs for renewable energy, hydrogen-powered cars, and an appearance by Al Gore.
Just kidding.
Check out the new trailer for the movie below!

Brilliant
I hope there’s a sequel with Daniel Bond and ecovillian Sarah Palin in the works.
According to The Omniverse Almanac, Sean Connery is one of the very few realy cool people inhabiting this planet, not Daniel Craig…
Wow. Wow wow wow. That’s all I have to say about this trailer. I’m a HUGE Bond fan…have been for more than 20 years, and I don’t think I’ve ever been as pumped about a 007 movie as I am about this one! As the first true sequel, we get instant gratification in the fact that Mr White has been captured and is obviously being drugged to tell a bit about Domic Greene’s organization, Quantum. We also get to see a lot more of the plot and it seems like classic 007…trying to overthrow a government to steal their resources (though it’s a bit too much like The World is Not Enough which is only 10 years old).
I freakin LOVE all the action scenes, though the slowmo glass breaking scene is a bit too much like Roger Spottiswoode’s use of slowmo in Tomorrow Never Dies, which I hated. The use of the Bond theme is outstanding as well, never quite belting it out but having undertones of it throughout. The girls are smoking hot, Craig looks great and the trailer leaves me confident that the movie is going to be awesome. Heck, even Alicia Keys, who is singing the theme song, said after seeing the completed movie, that it’s going to be awesome and she loved it!
Hopefully I don’t get too buried for this, but my Bond site has a great and huge section dedicated to Quantum of Solace with all the latest on every aspect of the movie.

Actually, anti-environmentalist messages throughout, not just the villain pretending to be one, the “sounds unstable to me” comment about fuel cells (and of course they fuel the inevitable armageddon at the end).
True there’s a lot of hypocrisy in real life, but my impression was of an intentional anti-ecology subtext throughout, especially the (some would say more powerful) subliminal aspects like the taxi driver’s ranting like a whacko.
