I missed posting yesterday’s giveaway, so I thought I might make it up to you with today’s offering of a Neuton Electric Lawn Mower.
I just finished a complete review of this awesome mower over on our sister site Groovy Green, so jump over there to get the deets. Needless to say, after mowing with electric for the past couple weeks I’m reluctant to go back to my gas-powered version. No more oil, no more “pull the cord” starts, no mess, and no ear plugs!
Today’s version is the Neuton 5.2 — which the site claims will give you about 1 hour of cutting time. In my tests, I got just over that, maybe a bit more. It also comes with a rear grass collection bag, a side discharge chute, a mulching plug, a 240 watt-hour battery, a battery charger and a safety key.

This would be so great. We just moved into a new home with a yard, and we’ve been using my father-in-law’s ancient mower. I’d love to upgrade (and, of course, give the one we’ve been using to someone else in need).
I hate mowing but since my wife gardens, I take care of the lawn. I dislike the noise and smell of gasoline, but this would eliminate that and probably make mowing more pleasurable. Thank you for the opportunity to win such a great prize. And happy anniversary.
I hated mowing the grass until this year when I decided to retire the gas mower. I bought a reel mower and actually enjoy it. My neighbors did think I was crazy and several times offered to let me borrow their gas mower. The reel mower was fine except that my yard is pretty big so it took quite a bit of time, plus it wouldn’t cut some of the higher weeds. An electric mower is on my wish list.
Today my gas mower died… again. In the process of trying to get it running I sprayed gas all over myself because my gas jug had pressurized in the sun and when I opened it… voila! Gas man.
I’m tired of the noise, the gas smell, having to go get gas, and America’s dependency on gas! Time for electric!
The only thing I really hate about mowing the lawn is that I have to hold that bar down to keep the engine on. I have carpal tunnel syndrome and gripping anything for more than a minute or two kills me!
Totally Great! I would love to silence the fume spewing mower in our back yard! I love being out there hanging with my dogs and mulching the lawn…but how great would it be if we could do it in a nice, quiet, green way. I would love it, the neighbors would love it, and the dogs would love it too ( and probably the birds, the bees, and the atmosphere too

58 Responses? Wow… check it out, see what happens when you give out free stuff. But what shocks me most, is how many eco-razzers (eco-razziers?) own or in close proximity to an actual lawn!!! Has there been a survey? Are most Ecorazzi readers like, living in the suburbs? Living the green high life vacariously through the sleuthing eye of Ecorazzi bloggers? Maybe Ecorazzi and Neuton have found their niche… How about an Ecorazzi Neuton signed edition? Like Jay Leno does for one of his motorcycles every year… Get all the green celebs to sign the thing… put it out to big… Could be awesome!
We let our grass grow so long trying to be as green as possible, then I cringe every time we pull out our gas mower! This would be a great addition to our green family.
I hate mowing the lawn because our yard is so big. This mower would be great for helping to convince my husband to go green.
