I missed posting yesterday’s giveaway, so I thought I might make it up to you with today’s offering of a Neuton Electric Lawn Mower.
I just finished a complete review of this awesome mower over on our sister site Groovy Green, so jump over there to get the deets. Needless to say, after mowing with electric for the past couple weeks I’m reluctant to go back to my gas-powered version. No more oil, no more “pull the cord” starts, no mess, and no ear plugs!
Today’s version is the Neuton 5.2 — which the site claims will give you about 1 hour of cutting time. In my tests, I got just over that, maybe a bit more. It also comes with a rear grass collection bag, a side discharge chute, a mulching plug, a 240 watt-hour battery, a battery charger and a safety key.
Want to win? Just leave a comment telling us why you love/hate mowing the lawn and what the Neuton will do to add something positive to that experience. One comment will be chosen at random to win. Complete rules and giveaway details are available here. Good luck!

Wow, that’s a big gift for missing a posting. Wonder what you give when you miss an anniversary. Not that you would…
Although mowing the lawn is hot and sweaty, at least I can keep both the environment and the lawn pretty at the same time.
I can’t stand the gas fumes that spew out of my mower. On a hot day, it will nearly knock you out!
I,m hoping the neutron mower won,t wake our new baby, mama needs all the rest she can get.
we currenlty pay to have our lawn mowed because we don’t own a mower. However, we don’t have it mowed as often as we would like so this would help us to enjoy our backyard much much more!
Wow the Lawn Mower I bout 6 months ago broke! I really need a better lwan mower one that will actually make my yard look good! Please enter me!

This would be a great first mower for my new home!
I love mwing the lawn…and all those nice straight lines behind me! But I hate the fumes and having to fill the tank. This Neutron would solve that problem! Thanks!
I absolutely hate raking up the cut grass afterwards… I love the idea of a grass collection bag because this will definitely save me some time! Plus it won’t smell nasty either-

Don’t count me as an entry, only an apartment without a patio. Just wanted to mention how nice that looks. I’ve only seen the “joke” mowers that were basically a bike with a mower attached. Can’t wait to get a house so I can get one.
this is such a wonderful mower. i think i would actually cut my grass (sometimes) which would make my husband really happy as he is the one who always cuts the grass. So in short my husband would feel extra loved which is always a good thing.
I would love to have a lawn mower that doesn’t make stinky gas fumes!
I don’t mow the lawn now due to having a torn rotor cuff in my shoulder and I just can’t pull on the gas powered mower any longer. I hate having to wait to get my son to do it and I don’t like being dependant on others. I like to be as independent as possible. with this electric mower I would be able to do it myself again~! YES! How great that would be. Not to mention no more heavy smelly gas cans to deal with and it is great for the environment. For me it’s a win win situation. Saving the environment while also be independent! Thanks for having this wonderful great giveaway.

Thanks now I’m off to blog about this great giveaway.
radical! That is so cool!
Happy Blogiversary!
You don’t know how badly I could use this. When we bought our house after years of renting, we didn’t have a mower. Fortunately, we got a hand-me-down (Yay for recycling) from my in-laws. It works ok, but is always conking out. Our yard is a great size for an electrical mower, and since we’ve been trying to go green for a while now, we’d love to add a more eco-friendly mowing option to our life. My husband is the mower and I’m the gardener, but I’d probably take up mowing with a mower like this.
thanks so much, and of course if I win, the old one will be recycled at a local center.
At my house, i mow the front lawn and my husband does the back. I am a little particular about how the yard looks and my husband does not care quite so much. I usually mow during the week when the kids are at school and the husband is at work. Unfortunately, I cannot get the thing to start no matter how much I pull the cord. So if I want to mow I watch for the man who lives next door to come home for lunch and run over to ask him to start it. Winning this mower would be awesome, not only because it is electric, but also because if I had to stop the mower for some reason before I was finished I would be able to turn it back on and not have a half mowed yard.
I hate the fumes that are emitted from my mower. The noise is also quite bad. I just don’t enjoy the lawn mowing experience.
I really like mowing my lawn. I get to see more of the things that live in my back yard and I use the time to come up with new things to write about. Winning this little lovely would be perfect because it would be a heck of a lot quieter than what I’m using now.
We already enjoy mowing our little lawn, but it would be so much more fun with an eco-friendly, quiet Neuton mower!
We have a rather large yard, so we use a sit down mower, but for corners and trimming we use a push mower.
It would be FANTASTIC to mow and conserve Earth while trimming. We can’t really afford a NEW! electric mower, so winning one would be the next bestest thing.
Good luck to everyone. Great giveaway!
Missy.
It just gets so hot out and gas is so expensive.
I would mow the lawn with a quiet mower like this. I hate our loud gas one.
I hate mowing the lawn! It always seems to take sooo long in the hot sun and when I get finished, the lawn doesn’t really look any better.
I wandered to your site while looking for electric mowers. I’m looking to start a lawn service and thought electric might be the way to go. My friends service spends a lot of money on fuel and maintenance. Batteries and electric motors,on the other hand, are relatively easy to maintain. I would love to win one of those Neuton machines to get me started.
a ride-on version would be awesome!. petrol mowers suck! cant stand being around them, they are loud and every neighbor loves to use them early morn in weekends when i’d rather be sleeping-in. (sleeping more = more time breathing slower = less co2 exhaled into atmosphere), everyone needs one of these mowers!
Wow! What a great giveaway! i have been using a (people powered) reel push mower for the last 8 years. It has a pretty tough time cutting weeds (which i have a lot of) and so i have to go over the lawn 2-3 times to look like it is mowed. i live in the blue ridge mountains, and well..my lawn is not exactly flat.
It is very hilly, and we have over an acre of cleared land that we mow. So, as you can imagine it is a huge chore! This lawn mower would be really helpful for us.
Ah, Sunday morning… a paper to read, a croissant to demolish, a peaceful retreat – until my husband fires up the mower and slices through the peaceful morning. With a lawn too steep for a push mower and a husband too keen on lawn for me to replace it with prairie grass, a Neutron would keep the peace as well as keep the green.
EVERYBODY knows everybody in our ‘hood – and there are a lot of…well, grass perfectionists. You know the type, out there late at night with the edgers, watering when drought threatens, and making a whole lot of noise with their gassy mowers. Now wouldn’t it be nice if I was first with this super sexy and quiet alternative?
Very cool! Our lawn mower broke so my husband pays to get it mowed. I would personally rather get rid of the lawn altogether but until then an eletric is a better eco alternative.
First off I have Multiple Sclerosis. With Multiple Sclerosis everything is a challenge. Having a mower to where I don’t have to use the pull cord would be great.
Second I have something called selective soft sound sensitivity (SSSS) syndrome. People who suffer from this are bothered by selective sounds or soft sounds in their environments. The degree of annoyance can be mild or severe, even profound. It can affect a person’s ability to enjoy family, social, and work life.
My case is severe. One of the many sounds that drive me crazy is the sound on a lawn mower engine. Not only does the sound bother me but so does the smell of the exhaust.
Having a Neutron mower would be killing 2 birds with one stone. First there would be the environmental aspect and the second would be the disability problem.
Happy Birthday! Your website is like a sweet addiction.
Would love a lawn mower that is eco friendly and thank you for making that wish come true for one of us.
We live in Vegas where water is scarce…so next year we’re getting rid of our lawn and doing desert-friendly landscaping. In the meantime, I’d love to have this mower.
I have a few issues with my current gas-powered lawnmower. Right now it has a leak in the gas tank so it’s kind of a safety hazard. Second, it’s really loud. I’ve been trying to become more and more “green” and the Neuton Electric Lawn Mower certainly fits the bill.
I want to give this to my neighbor so that when he annoys us by mowing the lawn at 9pm on a Sunday night (or 8am on a Saturday/Sunday morning) I’ll feel slightly bad about wanting to punch him in the face, knowing he’s using an eco-friendlier mower.
The lawn is like my version of a zen rock garden — Instead of a rake, I have the mower. Instead creating twisting designs around stones, I maneuver around shrubs, lawn chairs, and dog toys.
Who needs to meditate?
We moved from a tiny suburban lot to a house with much more land. The plan is to grow our own veggies, start an orchard and plant more trees. We’ve begun on the first two and had a respectable crop for our first season.
I feel as though the grass is a slap in the face of the green progress we’re making in terms of edibles and more trees, but I want some lawn for my toddler to play safely on. The Neuton electric mower would make me feel much better about maintaining lawn that is not powered by gas. We also plan to add solar voltaic panels, which could help charge the mower!
I actually enjoy mowing the yard, especially when I am listening to an audiobook in my mp3 player. Unfortunately, the gas mower is a bit noisy to listen with, so I obtained a reel mower, which is quieter, but doesn’t do as good a job when you miss a week of mowing.
A cordless electric mower would be great to use when listening to audio books!
We have a small lawn that my husband currently uses a corded weed trimmer to “mow”. It’s loud and leaves bald spots all over the place. It is a good thing he doesn’t groom poodles! I’ve tried a push / reel mower but it doesn’t work well because our lawn is really only about 2% grass – the rest is a mix of clover, weeds, etc. The Neuton would be perfect for us and allow mowing the lawn to be more of a family affair since we all run and hide from flying debris when my husband is trimming the lawn. Pick me! Pick me! Pick me! (Please)
Your giveaways are so exciting! I hate mowing the lawn because of the gasoline smell and the noise. This looks like a perfect solution. I hope I win this one.
I’m glad that I don’t have a gas mower but the cord on my electric one really is a royal pain! My 10 year old would like to mow the lawn (for a modest fee, of course) but it’s too hard for him to mow and keep the cord out of the way. It’s none too easy for me either. A battery powered mower is such a great idea that I can’t imagine why they aren’t more available and popular. Thanks for letting us know about this one.
I planted our lawn and garden on a plot of ground where one never existed before. I did all the work by hand on the cheap digging out rocks and old cedar roots with a only a shovel. Then I raked it level and hand cast fescue seed. The ground is poor and we could not afford to supplement it with purchased topsoil or bags of “stuff” from the garden center. Every time I mow I leave some clippings on the ground and compost the rest so the nutrients from the grass goes back into the land to enrich it and make it better than it was. That pretty green machine would look mighty fine rolling around my yard making my life and the air around it a little better. Besides it goes with my eyes.
this mower is awesome!!! i would surprise my husband with it. we live in Florida where the grass seems to grow an inch a day. Poor guy has to a lot, or else I would never be able to walk through it since I’m so short
I would love this and have actually talked with my husband about getting one this summer. It’s way more environmentally friendly and quieter than the gas kind!
I also live right in front of a school and lots of people see my home so I have lots of flowers and less lawn every year. I would like to be more of an example to others by having them see the alternatives that are out there besides a gas mower.
If only there was a way to show them how much better it is to be a vegan!
Anything that does not use gas is great
I love that it doesn’t use gas so I wouldn’t have to inhale fumes! We just moved to a new house and planted a new lawn and this would be perfect to mow it with!!
I can’t stand the smell of the fumes of a regular lawn mower (the kind I grew up with). It ruins the fresh cut grass smell.
Wow, this looks pretty awesome! I hate mowing because my mower is always hard to start and the fumes are awful when it is super hot out!
I hate mowing the lawn because it’s loud and the dust and grass get in my clothes and eyes. My husband is the one who usually does it, sometimes my son. This might get me out to do it because it seems like it’s not as noisy as the gas mowers. Thanks for the opportunity!
I love mowing the lawn because I get some exercise, but I hate the fumes from the gas mower…with the Electric Lawn Mower from Neutron, I would be able to get exercise AND fresh air!
Ahh, for me mowing the lawn can be a very meditative thing. An electric mower would make it all the more so with less eco-guilt.
