Daryl Hannah Wants To Grow Her Own Fuel From Sunflowers

The beautiful, always interesting, Daryl Hannah has been popping up a bit more lately — and we’re happy to see that the wonderful site Ecostiletto managed to grab a great interview with her. She discusses, among other things, her frustrations with the word “green”, favorite eco-makeup, and what steps she’s taking to make her life even more earth-friendly.
One thing that popped out for me was her intention to start growing her own food. “I’m thinking sunflowers as a fuel crop,” she said. “I’d love to use hemp because I could grow all my fuel for the year with one acre, but it is, ridiculously, still illegal to grow hemp in the U.S. Too bad, as it is such a useful crop for every reason: food, fuel, non-petroleum biodegradable plastics, etc. And there’s no THC in it!”
Stupid law, indeed.
As we reported earlier, Hannah is also looking to convert her Trans Am from the movie Kill Bill into an all-electric vehicle. With the solar panels she uses at her home, it will be a closed loop, clean transporation system — though she admits her range will be limited due to the weight of the vehicle, power of the batteries, etc.

Great Lady!!!
Love her…
incredible woman. she was green long before it hit the masses and became cool. i’ve been inspired by her since high school when i worked for an eco group and we’d read different interviews about her eco friendly home and life. she’s a trend setter for sure.
