Tomorrow afternoon, Natalie Portman will join Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton and Eric Garcetti (President of the Los Angeles City Council) in addressing a large celebrity crowd gathered to support Barack Obama as the best Presidential candidate for the environment.
Called “ANGELENOS GO GREEN FOR OBAMA”, the event will be the first major political fundraiser to be both zero-waste and carbon neutral. Green highlights include fully compostable platware and flatware, organic food and drink served by top LA chefs, and a local offsetting of CO2 emissions through organizations such as TreePeople and The Climate Registry.
Jon Bon Jovi and Richie Sambora are listed to perform. Tickets are available from the official site here.
It’s cool to see that Portman will be speaking out for why she believes Barack Obama is the best candidate — especially when it comes to the environment. She most recently appeared in Declare Yourself’s celebrity-filled “Go Vote” video. We’ll drop more info on this event as we get it!
