With so many celebrities like Brad Pitt and Steven Spielberg anteing up to fight Proposition 8 on the California ballot, it was kind of surprising that Ellen Degeneres hadn’t followed suit. Granted, she has given enormous amount of publicity to the cause by blogging, talking about it on her show, and creating a new PSA; which to most would be considered priceless over anything monetary.
However, now it appears that she was just playing her hand, waiting for the optimal time to get her message across. Various sites are saying that she has purchased $100,000 of television air time for the No On Prop 8 campaign to run the heartfelt PSA she recently taped. Way to go! With only a couple weeks until the time to vote, this is very good news for those against the initiative.
Also — apparently Democratic Vice-Presidential nominee Joe Biden came out against the measure in a recent guest appearance on Ellen! Just one more reason to vote for Obama this coming November 4th.
