As reported earlier, Hayden Panettiere is celebrating the one-year anniversary of kicking up trouble in Japan by participating in various anti-whaling rallies and initiatives. This weekend, she cruised down to D.C. to form a giant whale with hundreds of other supporters in front of the U.S. Capitol Building.

Today, she’s announced a new campaign with social netoworking site for good, SocialVibe, to gather one million signatures for the exclusive Whaleman Foundation petition. The goal is to is to stop all commercial whaling and lethal scientific research whaling by Japan, Norway, Iceland, and to enforce the current global whaling moratorium.
