Knock, knock! Who’s there? Obama. Obama, who? OBAMA NATION, BABY!!!!
As everyone knows by now, the Obama campaign was all about change, and it looks like that change just might include animal-reform as well. Barack Obama was recently quoted as saying, “I think how we treat our animals reflects how we treat each other. And it’s very important that we have a president who is mindful of the cruelty that is perpetrated on animals.” Wow!!
Considering that many past presidents have gone so far as to participate in hunting expeditions to cater to NRA members, it’s refreshing to see that Obama is “mindful” of animal-cruelty. And the good news is he’s already practicing what he preaches by adopting a rescued dog instead of supporting the often brutal pet industry.
In reflecting on Barack’s words, I can’t help but be reminded of a quote by our 16th president, Abraham Lincoln, who once said: “I am in favor of animal rights as well as human rights. That is the way of a whole human being.”
Here’s to change, you guys!
