Only Organic Vegans Get The Best Highs From Vampire Blood

Note to self.

November 10th 2008

For anyone that’s been following HBO’s new series True Blood, you know that sex with a vampire that’s just crawled out of the earth is damn sexy. According to one of the devilishly sexy characters Amy, you’re also privy to the knowledge that only organic vegans get the best “highs” from “V”. For those that are completely lost, “V” is vampire blood — and to a human that tastes but a drop — it’s a trippy experience like no other.

The writers must have haivng fun with this mixing of LSD-like effects and a hippie character like Amy trying to teach her new (and newly addicted to “V”) boyfriend, Jason Stackhouse, how to go vegan. She says that only those that are “pure” and consume raw foods to cleanse their systems can truly reach the limits of the drug. Of course, great lifestyle choice aside, Amy is also a full-blown nutjob. In last night’s episode, while trying to make her case as a good person she said, “I am an organic vegan.” And my carbon footprint is miniscule.” All the while, she’s draining a captured good-guy vamp of his blood.

Anyways, we don’t forsee a good ending for True Blood’s treehugger vegan. But the show is fantastic — so hit it up when you can — and we’ll let you know if we score any “V”.

  1. That nutjob Amy gives organic vegans and raw foodists a bad name. She’s probably lying about being a vegan to the vampire–like he’s going to question her.

  2. I’ve been watching this show and suspected her character might be vegetarian as she was being all “green” about stuff BUT when she went with Jason to Merlotte’s Bar and Grill for the first time, she seemed a bit uneasy when seeing the mounted animals on the walls and Jason said “are you ok in here?”. And she said something to the effect of “yeah, it’s the chain of life, see that this animal eats that animal, and this one that one, and we at the top can eat anything we want.” So to my amazement later she claims to be vegan.

  3. Speaking of the latest episode, I was thinking of the scene of the tribunal, when one of the protagonists, Bill, is explaining his actions–that the human woman (they referred to her as a “girl,” and the magistrate called her his “pet”) uncovered who had stolen from the bar. The magistrate said that humans exist to serve vampires.

Which has made me think. Didn’t men used to think (and some still do) that women are made to serve men? And aren’t there racists who believe that nonwhites are meant to serve whites? And don’t people still believe that animals exist to be eaten? Sadly, I don’t think anyone will make the connection.
