The Dark Knight Downsizes To A Smart Fortwo

November 13th 2008

Even though gas prices have been in a free fall, Batman isn’t taking any chances. At least, that’s what the folks behind the fuel-efficient Smart Fortwo would love to believe. At the recent Specialty Equiptment Markerters Association Show (SEMA) in Las Vegas, a Batman-inspired vehicle turned heads. Although as Noel over at Green Stumbler noted, “With a 96 mph top speed though and a pretty wonky transmission system, I doubt Bruce Wayne’s excited.”

  2. That is so cute! I love the smart car batmobile combo:)

  3. I didn’t think the Smart Car could get any cooler!

  4. Joyce it does get cooler…

Earlier this year, Daimler announced that it is planning for a battery-electric Smart car in 2010, and a battery-electric Mercedes A-Class.

Hopefully, both cars will get Federal certification and have a good public recharging infrastructure…

Does anyone see midget Batman and Robin jumping out of this SEMA Smart batcar at a kids birthday party?!!! LOL

  5. EcoMama is right – looks like a midget mobile…how non-PC is that Wee-Man?

If you want to see the largest number of alternative fuel vehicles and gasoline-electric hybrids next week, see the LA Auto Show, and apparently Honda has the most (no surpise there)
