“I normally play a lot of characters that could be considered dark. This is a total departure from that. She’s still really twisted and screwed up, but she’s actually sort of a hippie. She loves nature and thinks everything is connected and that there is so much beauty in the world. But she’s actually kind of tweaked in the head.”

–Actress Lizzy Caplan in a recent interview with The Trades. On True Blood she plays a vegan character named Amy who is addicted to “V” or vampire blood.

TECHNICALLY (if you want to get technical about a silly vampire show) drinking the blood of a vampire who is not consenting, is not vegan. I hate her part in the show because it seems she’s made to be the craziest one, and of course the reason for her insanity is her hippy-dippy world view.

DB, completely agree. It’s too bad characters like her’s continue to pop up. Obviously, a level-headed hippie wouldn’t make for good TV, so they’ve gone the extreme with this one.

I think she was lying to the vampire about being vegan, although she urged Jason to cut out processed foods for a better “high”.

  • Rachelle

Her character was killed off the show last night. Bummer. LOL!

  • VeggieTart

Oh, please, Rachelle, her character was off-the-wall NUTS and a little bit nasty.
