Live Earth India Canceled After Mumbai Terrorist Attacks
Filed under: music — Michael Andre d'Estries @ 11:29 am

The Live Earth concert set to take place in Mumbai, India on December 7th has been canceled due to the horrific events in that city over the last few days. “Everyone involved with Live Earth India … is stunned and saddened by the tragic events of the past few days in our host city Mumbai,” the organizers said in a statement. “We always felt very welcomed and safe as we spent more time on the ground in Mumbai to finalize plans.”
The concert — with performers like Bon Jovi, Roger Waters, will.i.am, and others — was to have highlighted the climate crisis and promote environmental stewardship through entertainment. “We will continue to work for solutions to the climate crisis for the good of the people of India and around the world,” the release continued. “But for now, our thoughts and our prayers are with the victims of this terrible attack, with the bereaved, with the people of Mumbai and with everyone in India.”
We send our best as well to all those affected by this great tragedy. For more information on refunds, please visit the Live Earth website here.

has it been postponed or canceled?
We must not get cowed down by terrorists. We need to bounce back and ensure this never happens again.
Unfortunately, according to the organizers, it looks like they’re canceling the event completely. It remains to be seen whether something in India will happen down the road, but I can imagine it will be awhile.
I hate when a small group of horrible people can spoil the peace and happiness of a nation in the process seeming to target people who never have anything to do with their “cause”. A complete shame.
I was born in Bombay(Mumbai), and I can not believe all the crazy stuff that has been happening there over the last week. I guess you can’t hide from terrorism anywhere. My dad and step mom were supposed to be over there, and thank god they post poned their plans.
