It’s become a familiar headline to write year after year — with Clooney and other celebrities getting together and hosting dinner parties to raise millions for Darfur relief. In May of 2007, Brad Pitt, George Clooney, Matt Damon, and Don Cheadle hosted a party in Cannes that ended up raking in $9.2 million. Then, this past August, Pitt and Clooney threw another fundraiser in Venice, Italy. Now, another $14.57 million has been raised thanks to an event in London on Thursday night.
Joining George this time was Matt Damon with musician Kid Rock providing the entertainment. Other guests, which paid over $14,000 apiece to be among the 100 in attendance, included Scarlett Johansson, Cindy Crawford, Sarah Ferguson, Bono and Guy Ritchie.
Money from the night went towards Clooney’s Not On Our Watch charity, which he set up with his Ocean’s trilogy co-stars Cheadle, Pitt and Damon. Nice work, guys.
