Jennifer Aniston just got like 4 extra cool points in my book. Seriously!

This weekend, Aniston threw a holiday/housewarming party at her new Beverly Hills mansion for some of her close friends, including veggie-superstars Ellen DeGeneres, Portia De Rossi, Tobey Maguire and his wife, Jennifer Meyer.

Now as many vegetarians and vegans know, the holidays can be a bitch when it comes to eating at parties. See also: GET THAT DEAD TURKEY AWAY FROM ME!!! But Aniston proved to be a classy broad and made sure the catered event included lots of vegan food for her meat-free friends. SCORE!

As somebody who knows what it feels like to attend those holiday parties that are less than veg-friendly, I so appreciate Jennifer’s gesture and am sure that our favorite famous veggies did too! HAPPY HOLIDAYS!

Honestly, is there one person on this planet who gives a rat’s ass about what Jennifer Aniston served at a party?

Not only is it completely uninteresting, it hardly qualifies as “green” gossip. How many trucks pulled up with caterers and electric heaters? How many cars did the valet park that night? How much power did it take to put that party on, not to mention run a mansion on a daily basis for one person?

You know how Jennifer would really make this planet a better place? Besides paying some party planner of the moment thousands of dollars to make tempeh balls?

She could stop plastering her face on the cover of every magazine, bitching about Angelina Jolie. Talk about saving trees.

While I might agree about some of the eco/power points you state I just don’t understand the hatred for Aniston. At all..

Her husband cheated on her, Angelina admitted she fell in love with him while he was married to Jennifer, stole him away from his WIFE and Aniston was simply asked about it in an interview and said it was “uncool” If it had been me I don’t know if I’d have been so tactful. I’d have probably said what a fucking bitch.

So I don’t think she bitches too much. She was asked a question in an interview and gave a simple short answer that was printed everywhere.

Why is it people support a wife cheater and home wrecker only in this isolated incident? …… I was lambasted when I expressed my feelings on here about Jolie and Pitt but when people put down Aniston no one says a word.

I think our society’s morals are screwed up and have gone to hell in a handbasket.

    Respectfully,

    Erin

My comments were less about her and more about this story, which is ridiculous.

Offering a few vegan appetizers at your party hardly makes you a champion of the environment.

Was it a nice gesture? Yes. But she didn’t grow the food, for God’s sake.

I agree she’s certainly not the poster child for eco/vegan friendly stuff. You’re right… But with vegan friends like she has (and some good nice ones too) i think she could be swayed in the right direction ;)

Whoever is complaining, you shouldn’t complain that much. And if any among you think for even one second that a vegan meal isn’t helping the environment, you are wrong. The factory-farm industry is the biggest polluter on Earth. You have no respect for the environment if you are eating meat in our present times, and you have no right to call yourself an environmentalist. Any vegan meal is a good meal. So, in short, if anyone in this group isn’t a vegan, be one. Now.

Jen is major uncool. Why don’t she get rid of the gas guzzler that do more harm to the environment.
Get rid of the massive Pr team she pays and donate that money to charity. What ever she does is self indulgent. Very selfish person.

speaking of gas guzzlers I just had to share this link with eco readers. Actor who played “Bo Duke” from Dukes of Hazzard has his SUV stolen that he left at a mall with two tiny bred puppies (store bought methinks) Um what’s wrong with this pic? You leave your store bought pups (only weeks old) in a gas guzzler at the mall (yuck) and it gets stolen? Sounds like bad Carma .. oh I mean “Karma” to me! LOL

Dear TESS (it just dawned on me today- DUH)

Jennifer TRADED IN HER SUV FOR A HYBRID nearly TWO years ago…..

With all due respect – probably a good idea to keep up on the eco events before calling someone a selfish gas guzzling driver. The woman drive a frickin Prius…

Jen is cool in my book. Anyone that invites a vegan over and doesn’t offer them a bag of salad and a carton of tofu – which my sister does – is making a sincere effort.

Vegans, in small (but growing) numbers, are saving this planet from its karmic self. Believe it or not! :)

let all be fine and well,
id say what would be more interesting to know is who gives away vegan friendly food to people in need. reading about what stars eat in their mansions while millions starve(and there usually no vegetarian options at the rescue mission) is kind of like listening to marie antoinette say “let them eat cake”. maybe people would like stars more if they werent so greedy.

i can’t believe i’m offering this info. but ER did a story a few months ago on how H ….H…Heather Mills (there, I said it!) gave away a million freaking dollars of vegan food to hungry children. BUT It was mostly soy (some good veggies would have been nice) I do appreciate her effort even though I’m not a fan (understatement) of Heather Mills.

E (too sleepy to go find the ER link when they covered it)

uh, erin, remind me not to get in any kind of argument with you that where you have to repeat green facts about celebrities. damn lady. but seriously people, i don’t understand the intense dislike of j. aniston. she is no better or worse than the average celebrity. do i wish she was vegan and donated food to hungry people instead of having a party, yeah. . .do i think she’s the devil, well g, i can think of a handful of celebs right off the top of my head that are not only not doing anything to help the environment, but are blatently harming it.
