My birth mother (who worked for WWF in Switz) just explained to me some of the reasons she left (including these policies) Mind you she left in early 2000′s when all that stuff started stirring up. It’s a shame they have had some great accomplishments – yet they then step 10 steps back… I was planning on giving to them this Christmas (and granted, I wanted a wwf green vest which you get with a donation but now, forget it….

The WWF is also a supporter of cruel and unnecessary animal experimentation.

At first I thought the ad was for something Christmas related. How ham is made from babies and such.

I didn’t know WWF supported hunting. I don’t really like them now, though I’m sure they do good things too. Still, I would rather support another organization in this case.

Wow, I’m surprised. I took WWF to be a very mainstream, never-rock-the-boat kind of organization. And their pro-hunting perspective left a bad taste in my mouth. I’m rethinking that completely. This ad is fantastic!

According to the Web site of the WWF’s Canadian office, “WWF is not an animal welfare organisation. We support the hunting and consumption of wild animals provided the harvesting does not threaten the long-term survival of wildlife populations. WWF has never opposed a sustainable seal hunt in northern or eastern Canada.”
