malletThere are a few classic blunders in life. The most famous is never get involved in a land war in Asia, but only slightly less well-known is this: never go on a reality TV show that may require you to eat kangaroo penis and testicles blended into a variety of drinks.

Especially if you’re a vegetarian.

Alas, while the first is somewhat avoidable, British celebrity Timmy Mallet found that blended kangaroo twigs and berries is still a shocking possibility. The 53-year-old TV presenter was part of the UK reality show I’m a Celebrity…Get Me out of Here! and was booted off after the producers organized the challenge and he refused.

He said: “It was an eating trial. I wasn’t expecting that. I’m a vegetarian. How could I cope? Am I comfortable having to consume living creatures? The answer is no, of course I’m not comfortable. But I am a fighter and I believe you’ve got to be in it to win it.”

No. No, you really don’t have to fight in a round labeled ‘penis colada’. Seriously. Just run.

Just why is it that people watch these idiotic reality competition shows?

  • Rob

He’s the first I’ve heard to actually say no – which is a good thing!

Good for him! Hopefully he’ll inspire some people to go vegetarian by realizing that they can refuse food to stand up for what they believe in.

People will do anything for TV time. Glad this guy refused. Now, if more people would refuse to indulge in these horrible “challenges,” idiotic reality TV show producers would stop torturing animals in the name of entertainment.

Of course, people eat bits of animals all the time; they just call it “meat.”
