But Tibet was not a particularly peaceful culture. Until recently they were feudalists, with all the excessive violence and class issues typically associated with fuedalism.

And NO (do you even know how many times vegetarians have to refute this ridiculous nonsense), Hitler was not a committed vegetarian and he was not an ethical vegetarian- he tried a vegetarian diet sometimes, for health reasons. We are talking about ethical vegetarianism here, vegetarianism as ideology, not just diet. Someone who is vegetarian sometimes purely for health is not a vegetarian, they are just a person who eats vegetarian food. It’s not the same thing. Even though vegetarianism can be healthy as a side benefit, somebody who only does it for health reasons does not apply to discussions of ethical vegetarianism, and it’s disingenuous and manipulative to use them as a battering ram against vegetarianism.

Is it not more of a wrong-doing to have over £500,000,000,000 when so many people are starving, than to occasionally eat meat? I taught as a survival instructor and meat/blood is a top way of getting nutrients to the human body. People do eat too much meat anyway, when it comes to everyday diets. (and not enough fibre/fruit)(even Chimps will eat meat..when they can catch it!) Buddha occasionally ate meat when offered and Jesus certainley ate meat of Beef and Lamb. I will take those guys actions/words over any other human being. They will always win.

The Dalai Lama himself has said “He is simple buddhist monk”. Why do people put him on such a pedestal, including Paul McCartney? Should he listen to the majority of non-doctors rather than his doctor? NO!

He’s not a Jainist (look it up), he’s not Moby (no offense), and he’s not a a member of Earth Crisis last time I checked.
