Pierce Brosnan Gives His Recommendations For Holiday Charity Giving

December 23rd 2008

brosnan_holidayPierce Brosnan is one of the few actors that actively writes online throughout the year. Sure, he may go a few months in between posts, but every update always offers a nice look at what films he’s working on and/or the initiatives he’s passionately supporting.

To end 2008, the actor talks about his upcoming movie projects — as well as the charity he’s getting behind for the holiday season. He writes,

“The following organizations were on our holiday gift giving list:

- The Jane Goodall Institute
- Roots and Shoots
- American Red Cross
- Kauai Humane Society

These funds will be used to sponsor environmental education and youth based humanitarian programs, provide clean, safe drinking water to a developing nation by distributing thousands of portable water purifiers, offer relief services for the victims of the Southern California Wildfires, and care for numerous stray animals while also supporting the spay and neuter shelter program on the island of Kauai.”

Great to see Brosnan spreading the word on some charities we haven’t heard of before. He’s also got a link to Captain Paul Watson’s (of Sea Sherpherd) news updates from the S.S. Steve Irwin. For more, check out Pierce’s official site here.
