Where would you be without us rounding out your morning with spy shots of Jake Gyllenhaal picking up some “C&P’s Organix Canine Adult Formula Dry Dog Food” from a pet store? The actor hit up a PetCo in the Brentwood section of Los Angeles yesterday. Nice to see Jake feeding his pets green!

For those of you still interested, Organix Dry Dog Food is made with “Certified Organic Chicken as the #1 Ingredient in both the Canine and Feline Formulas that meets the USDA organic labeling regulations. With over 70% organic ingredients and a high meat content, you can be assured that your pet is benefiting from an outstanding diet that’s highly palatable and highly digestible. No pesticides, no growth hormones, no synthetic fertilizers, no antibiotics, no bioengineering, no by-products – all are true of our organic ingredients.”

    Hi, great website you operate!

BUT why promoting a non-vegan food?
    Am I missing something?

  • VeggieTart

Well, VeganDog, some dogs do better on a meat diet. And cats absolutely must have a meat-based diet.

My question is, why was he shopping at PetCo, which treats small animals as merchandise?

  • http://BrainyBlonde.com erin

petco is an awful store and i’m highly surprised to hear that they even carry Organix (even los angeles- where, when i lived there, they did carry some but many higher end brands chose not to let them sell their brand their (like wellness etc)

my cats eat organix and like it.. good brand which usually i only see at feed stores and health food stores..

    petco sux… organix rox

This answer has nothing to do with AR. Disappointed to hear that.

I don’t know PetCo. I’m not from the US.

Let’s face it…it’s not about the dog food people…we all want Jake for dinner…Woof!! I’m sure his kibbles and bits would be sure to please even the most discerning palette..heeheehee…

This is a “green” website not a vegan one. The contributors (all i THINK), MOST of the people that read it and a lot of the news on here has to do with Vegan issues, but it is not an vegan blog so to speak.

  • VeggieTart

True, Steph, but many of us recognize the link between meat-eating and environmental devastation.

Vegan Dog, Petco has a record of abuse with the animals it “sells,” at least according to PETA. I prefer to buy my kitty’s supplies at non-chain places that don’t sell animals. I fortunately have that luxury.

  • Vegan Dog

VeggieTart, thanks for the Petco explanation.

that’s what I feed my kitty!!
