Brad Pitt Says Gay Marriage Opponents Don’t Understand Freedom

January 7th 2009

pitt_prp8In a new interview with W Magazine, Brad Pitt briefly touches upon the subject of gay marriage — and why those who are against it are taking for granted their own freedoms.

“People who are against gay marriage do not understand the very freedoms that they themselves are enjoying,” he argues. “What if someone said, ‘Sorry, no Christianity here? No Judaism. Certainly no Mormons.’ No one would stand for that, and I wouldn’t allow anyone to say that either. I’d fight them in the same way.”

Late last year, Pitt donated $100k to fight California’s Prop 8 banning gay marriage. While that battle was lost, the effort to extend freedom of marriage to gays and lesbians continues. It’s only a matter of time before such injustice is righted.

  5. Ahhhh, Erin, I love a little sarcasm in the morning. Hey, this just proves that heterosexual marriage is weak with or without gays being allowed to marry.

  6. effin entertainers. They think they know it all because they are professional liars. STAY OUT OF POLITICS. I certainly don’t give a s__t about what you think. You’re a bad actor anyway.

What you think of him as an actor/ person or whatever makese no diffrence…

    HE IS 100% CORRECT!
