Sea Shepherd Accused By Whalers Of Disrupting Search For Drowned Sailor

Sea Shepherd activists are in hot water (which I’d argue is better than bloody, whale-less water) after Japanese whalers accused them of disrupting a search for a missing sailor believed to have drowned in the seas off of Antarctica.
ICR director-general Minoru Morimoto accused Sea Shepherd of interfering with a search for a sailor from the whale hunter Kyoshin Maru No. 2, saying: “Clearly, the Netherlands vessel made use of the distress call and came to disturb our search.”
Sea Shepherd founder Paul Watson disagrees with the accusation and told Reuters, “We approached them and radioed them and said very specifically that we were not there to harass them, but assist them. We have their response, that they did not want any assistance from an eco-terrorist organization.”
Japan’s whaling fleet is in the Antarctic to capture 1,000 whales for “scientific” purposes, therefore not “technically” breaching an international whaling ban. BOOOO!
While we are genuinely sorry to hear about the drowned sailor, we trust Watson’s crew operated with the best intentions and certainly would never distract from saving a life. Don’t let this get you down, guys! Keep up the good work!

Too bad the sailor had to lose his life just so that fish eaters could glut themselves on whale blubber. I’m trying to find some sympathy but like the dead sailor’s body, its hard to find
While I too disapprove of what the whalers are doing, I can not stand Paul Watson and watching the work he does on his Animal Planet show actually makes me sympathize more with the whalers! (INSANE! I KNOW!)

I adore Sea Shepard, Paul Watson and all that they do. Watching Whale Wars just made me LOVE AND SUPPORT THEM MORE!!
I have no doubt in my mind that they went to assist and the stupid MURDERS told them to bugger off.
I can’t wait to see the Japanese Waling Fleets go down in flames….along with people that have the BALLS to say they SYMPATHIZE with them….

Actually Steph that is what many reports are saying…That the Japanese whalers told the Sea Shepherd crew they weren’t interested in any help from “eco-terrorists” what’s in quotation marks being the exact name they called them.
Look they weren’t in the way - these japanese sailer killers just hate them. boycott everything from japan (and china too - you know what they do with the fur industry and poisoning our food and our pet’s and baby’s food. I am not buying stuff from now on unless it was made in the USA baby!

They are a bunch of LOSERS. They think they are fighters and talk about being put in danger all the time. Yeah, because you attack ships and board them, which is illegal in international law. I don’t see how the Japanese ships defending themselves is any different than riot police, trying to stop a bunch of holligan thugs disobeying the law. They are polluting the earth by being on a ship travelling all over the pacific. What a fucking joke, these idiots need to be removed from civilization.
I love whales, but these idiots have no business parading around the Southern Ocean in their pirate costumes harassing these sailors trying to make an honest living. Whaling is dangerous enough without being harassed by a bunch of ignorant spoiled hippies living off of gullible peoples donations. If and when whaling ends it will be because of organizations like Greanpeace not self serving and self righteous baffoons like the Sea Shepperds. Pual Watson will end up in jail where he belongs sooner or later. The TV show is showing him for what he is, a coward running around in a Captain costume.
