UFO Blamed For Wind Turbine Destruction. We Blame Klaatu.

The truth is out there.

January 8th 2009

ufo_windturbineSome odd news out of the UK today in which a UFO has been blamed for the destruction of a wind turbine. Apparently, locals in Lincolnshire reported seeing mysterious glowing orbs in the evening sky shortly before one of the giant structure’s 65ft blades was torn off. Even more interesting, representatives for the wind farm have absolutely no idea what could have caused the freak breakup. From the article,

Dorothy Willows, who lives a mile and a half from the farm, said she saw a “low-flying object skimming across the sky towards the turbines” on Sunday evening. In the early hours of the following morning a 213 ft fibre glass turbine at the farm was left crippled, with locals reporting hearing a loud bang like thunder. One of the £1 million turbine’s 65 ft blades was ripped off clean off and thrown to the ground, while another was severely damaged. Although no foreign debris was found at the site, rumours of a possible alien collision quickly spread among local residents. RAF Scampton, the nearby base that hosts the Red Arrows display team, said it had no planes flying that night.

Could aliens be traveling millions of light years just to play target practice with our wind turbines? And if so, why aren’t they targeting Ann Coulter instead? Could Klaatu’s dire warnings issued in The Day The Earth Stood Still be coming true? Or are they just pissed because they were nominated for a Razzie Award?

The truth will be revealed next week after fragments of the blade are sent for testing to a lab. Question is: Will we ever know the whole story?

  1. I bet the blade was resonating so as to cause too much internal stress on the material.

  2. I bet it was a flying saucer. Whether it was one of ours or theirs is the question..

  3. my guess is that the structure started vibrating from a loss of balance among the blades causing the weakest blade to sheer off and the mangled blade in the picture above struck it, I assume they were spinning clockwise.

  4. Interesting that this happened just a week after a fully detailed account of the 1984 UFO sighting at the Indian Point nuclear power plant was finally made available to the public.
