You may not have heard of Yasmien Kurdi before (kind of reminds me of Kristin Kreuk a bit) but in the Philippines, she’s kind of a big deal. And since we here at Ecorazzi are always big fans of expanding our international horizons, we’re showing you two of Kurdi’s new ads for PETA Asia-Pacific. From the release,
“Kurdi was the first runner-up in the first season of the GMA Network talent show StarStruck. But her acting career really took off in 2006 when she won the role of Charming, the ugly daughter of Bakekang in the TV series of the same name. Her second album, Love Is All I Need, was released last year to acclaim from both fans and critics, and Kurdi currently stars as Shayne on GMA’s hit dramarama Saan Darating Ang Umaga”
“I’m asking people to liberate their diet and give vegetarianism a try,” says Kurdi, who ranked among the top contenders in PETA’s search for Asia’s sexiest vegetarian. “With so many delicious alternatives now available, it’s easier than ever to enjoy great food without causing animal suffering.”
Check out her second ad after the jump!

These could have been great ads if they weren’t photoshopped so bad. Oh Yasmien.
Yawn. Another woman sitting in a cage for PETA. Big fat hairy deal.
Another great campaign of Peta Pacific Asia, and its great to see so much famous (asian) people who take a clear stands against animal abuse. undoubtedly these Peta Awareness Campaigns like this will make young people think more and result in more new veggies than many people realise.
btw, this not “yet another woman” (kind of insulting..) but this is miss Yasmien Kurdi, vegetarian, and long time Peta supporter, who also promoted vegetarianism in a tv commercial for peta, and was poster girl in a similar campaign in 2007.
luckely she and many other famous people are a lot more positive and supportive about these great campaigns than some “yawn, another dumb peta camapign” veggies.
imagine if everybody would be so “yawn” negative ? the only people happy with these negative replies downgrading efforts from hardworking activist and famous people , is the fur business, meat industrie , and other organised legal animal abusers.
she’s my school mate at new era university..
