New ‘Hybrid’ Horror Movie Unfortunately Has Nothing To Do With Your Hybrid Going Insane, Eating People

When I was five-years-old, my parents took me to the drive-in to see my first R-rated movie (Thanks for the nightmares, Mom and Dad!) — which happened to be the possessed-car flick, Christine. Needless to say, it scared the crap out of me — but I was hooked on the horror genre from that point on. What has me walking down memory lane this afternoon? I spied a trailer to what looks to be a terrible but fun B-Horror movie called Hybrid. At first, I thought that the Prius was going to have its revenge on most of Detroit and leave a bloody trail. Unfortunately, it’s more about a shape-shifting car that hates humanity. Here’s a synop:

“Late one night, a mysterious car is brought into the Chicago police impound garage after a deadly traffic accident. The garage’s female mechanic, Tilda, and her young, hip fellow mechanics soon discover the car has a mind of its own: it morphs into different cars to confuse them and instead of needing an engine to run, it breathes. It’s a killing machine that is capable of outrunning and outwitting humans. In a high-octane fight to the death, it’s our group of determined humans versus the car in this supernatural action-adventure in the vein of Stephen King’s Christine and Transformers.”

I want one. Check out the trailer after the jump.
