Last May Ecorazzi told you that An Inconvenient Truth was being turned into an opera – certainty the first powerpoint presentation to ever receive such a theatrical makeover!

The opera — which is scheduled to premiere in 2011 — is being composed by Giorgio Battistelli with the help of poet J.D. McClatchy as librettist and William Friedkin directing. However, rumor on the street is that Friedkin recently quit the production, citing “creative differences.”

McClatchy, however, claims the reasons were personal and lambasted Friedkin for wanting to use special effects, saying “opera isn’t Hollywood.” W-O-W!

But really…An Inconvenient Truth The Opera? What’s next – Skinny Bitch in IMAX?

  1. Somebody has created a Hudsucker Proxy stage musical too. As if simply everything has to be made into a musical. *sigh*
