leo_greenfilmLeonardo DiCaprio is in Germany today for the Berlin International Film Festival and will be receiving the “International Green Film Award”. The honor, presented by BMW by Mikhail Gorbachev, is akin to a “Green Oscar,” offering a platform for environmental activists and dedicated artists to draw attention as well as strengthen and encourage the public conscience for environmental issues. The Award comes with a $250,000 donation for an environmental foundation or film project.

DiCaprio is being honored for his work on environmental initiatives — both on and off the screen. According to the release, the award marks the beginning of a collaboration between DiCaprio and the Cinema For Peace Foundation. We look forward to hearing more about the work that will result from this partnership and congratulate Leo on the award!

    YAY! Well deserved!

A glorifying moment for Leo! With the publicity received enormously, this can derive a swift change in how other people vision the environment. Time runs short if we Earthlings keep far from reality in which Earth is coming to waste. Not only the fans will generously follow Leo, but the environmental foundations can develop a healthy conscience among us.
