You’ve probably seen Orlando Jones in any number of movies and television shows, but I like to remember him as the innocent 7 UP spokesperson with the “Make 7 — Up Yours!” campaign. Hilarious.
Anyways, in a new interview with Parade magazine, Jones talks about why he’s a pain in the ass to cook for and why going green is a double-edged sword. Here are some highlights:
On being a vegan:
“I’m like vegan raw, so I’m really a pain in the butt about what I eat. I’ve been pursuing it actively for 14 years. But, actually, I’m a weird vegan because I don’t mind cooking meat for my friends. I don’t really subscribe to the theory that meat is going to kill you even though I don’t touch it. I’m sort of in the “anything in moderation” camp.”
On pursuing the green lifestyle:
“It’s like a double-edged sword. On one level I believe in an organic lifestyle and recycling and trying to cut down on energy consumption and everything else. But I’m not really a fan of doing anything to the “nth degree” because I think economically it’s an expensive lifestyle which a lot of people can’t afford. I kind of feel like it’s better in moderation. The yin and yang to me is about balancing it all.”
