Get out those party balloons, ya’ll — it’s time to celebrate!!
On Friday, HSUS President Wayne Pacelle revealed on his blog that:
“JCPenney, with more than 1,000 stores in 49 states, has become fur-free, making it the first multiple location, traditional department store to be fur-free in stores and on its website. The company is currently fur-free and has no plans for fur items in the future. Amen to that.”
It’s no secret that fur is the worst of the worst of the worst of the worst, and we’re absolutely thrilled that JCPenney is taking the appropriate steps to NEVER carry the cruel stuff again.
So join me and the thousands of others whole will show our appreciation by becoming regular JCPenney shoppers. Smell that in the air? Yep, it’s the delicious scent of progress!!

Thank God! One store down…a gazillion more to go? Let’s hope that others will soon follow suit.
And yes, fur is the worst of the worst.
truly amazing news. thanks to all who worked hard and continue to work hard to win these victories!
I’m ready to get my JC Penny on!
All hail to JCP. Awesome victory and progress indeed.
What can YOU do to help? Don’t buy fur. If you dont buy fur, the fur companies will have no choice but to close up shop.
Don’t support this ghastly industry.
Wow I have never been a big fan of the place but I’m gonna definitely go support my JC Penney’s right now! I try to buy some stuff vintage but there are lotsa stuff I still have to buy new – and I bet Penney’s even has organic now. Very cool news indeed!
