While actor Anil Kapoor might have played a conniving television host in Slumdog Milionare, in real life the famous actor has a heart of gold.

Kapoor has pledged to donate his money from the Oscar-winning film to Plan India – a Child-Centred Development organization that aims to promote Child Rights and improve the quality of life of vulnerable children in India.

Kapoor himself had a “modest” upbringing, but claims that the abuse he’s witnessed over the years has affected him deeply. Kapoor says:

“There are many who are sold and forced into prostitution, begging, labour and other such activities. Lack of education and functional skills has made trafficking of these children the prime source of income for the people.”
