The City of Greensburg, featured in the Leo DiCaprio produced series for Planet Green television, is but a few miles west of Wichita where Neil and his partners are working on modifying cars into hybrids.

There’s an amazing green collar jobs opportunity here for those who know how to see it, an appeal to the US auto industry to get off their lazy asses.

Neil also owns the Lionel Toy Train company, to which it has been suggested, they should create a Greensburg commemorative edition, since the railroad goes right through Greensburg from Wichita… a green toy train set, imagine that? An educational toy for generations to come.

Come on Lionel, remember the Rise of the Phoenix, the movie, the original, not the remake, where they all laughed at the toy plane maker because he beleived he could restore the crashed plane to make it fly again?

Well that’s what electric toy cars and trains are, models for the real thing. They aren’t just toys, they’re scale models, just pop the batteries in!

[...] Neil Young loves the automobile with a passion, it’s the giant oil conglomerates and carbon emissions that he’s not too crazy about. In support of his upcoming car-themed concept album Fork in the Road — which has basically pre-panned by critics based on a sample track and the theme — Neil Young has filmed a low-tech music video in what is undoubtedly the most high-tech ‘59 Lincoln Continental the world has ever seen: Lincvolt.The not so artistically shot video is for the track “Johnny Magic,” which not only features the Lincvolt, but also appears to be an ode to the heavy metal beast itself: “she goes long range on domestic green fuel,100 miles a gallon is the Continental rule.” Not to knock a legend the rock, but the lyrics seem a little uninspired and/or overly simplistic … kinda like we’re listening to something from a bygone era of uncynical rock ‘n’ roll. Anyway, it’s cool that Neil is still enthusiastic about the Lincvolt project. I’m thinking that the ‘Continental rule’ lyric has to do with the fact that the Neil’s Continental has been entered into the 100mpg Automotive X-Prize. [via Ecorazzi] [...]

You got this totally wrong. This video doesn’t feature Lincvolt at all. Come on, does this look ANYTHING like the interior of a 1959 Lincoln Continental convertible??
