The catholic religion condemns the use of condoms! They say people should practice abstinence!!! They prefer that thousands of people with STD infect other people than to use comdoms… They know people will always have sex! At least they should advise them to practice safe sex.

Therefore, arguments such as ‘marriage is between a man and a woman’ and that ‘marriage is sacred and should be protected’, accordingly to god, allah or whatever, are nothing but a load of crap!

These arguments are only used by religions and radical groups in order to control people by making them follow their rules. This way it’s easier to ‘zombify’ people… as if we don’t have enough of that already!!

Extending that line of reasoning, should people who are infertile be denied marriage rights? I mean, if we were all infertile, the human race would die out.

If I didn’t feel that people getting married at drive through chapels in Vegas threatened my marriage, then I don’t see how Adam and Steve shacking up is going to affect my life in any way.

The argument that redefining marriage is somehow wrong is equally ridiculous. Marriage has been repeatedly redefined throughout the years. And it is NOT historically “between a man and a woman”. At several points throughout history, it has been between a man and SEVERAL women. Since our parents didn’t arrange our marriage, and my father didn’t have to pay out a dowry for me on our wedding day, I’d say redefining marriage to be more in line with our current culture has gone quite well.

Personally, I’ve always seen religious marriage and legal marriage as two very separate things. I don’t need a piece of paper to tell me that I’m committed to a person, but I do need that piece of paper if I want certain rights. If churches want to not recognize or perform gay marriages, I think that’s well within their rights. Much like many churches won’t marry people if their spouse is of another religion (say, you’re Jewish and your spouse-to-be is Catholic). It’s their right to do that. But the state should be required to.

They are entitled to equal rights as to marriage, during marriage and at its dissolution.” When laws like Amendment Two (Florida) and Proposition Eight (California) are passed, they are not only unconstitutional but also highly discriminatory and illegal through international law.

Marriage is an aspect of life, so California, Florida, and Arizona and denying people life by banning gay marriage. As clearly stated in the US constitution, banning gay marriage is illegal.
