Eva Longoria Parker — one of our favorite green “Housewives” — has teamed up with the H-E-B Grocery chain in Texas to release a new eco-friendly reuseable shopping bag. The Earth Day campaign features a 30-second television spot to be aired through April in which Longoria Parker encourages shoppers to promote a greener planet by purchasing limited-edition reusable shopping bags. The bags will be sold for $1.49 at H-E-B stores through April 30.

“The environment is very important to me, and through various initiatives of my own and with partners like H-E-B, I work to educate people about what they can do to save the planet by using less energy, recycling and implementing ‘green’ business and personal practices,” Longoria Parker said in a statement released by H-E-B. “Together, we can make a noticeable difference.”

According to the campaign, H-E-B estimates their recycling efforts save almost two million trees a year; one reusable shopping bag replaces six plastic bags every time it is used. Check out the ad after the jump.

And here is the environmental princess wearing a hundred tortured minks. Eva could not give a dang about the environment. She is simply trying to counter the negative publicity of her in-your-face pro fur stance.

  2. Energy to just reuse the last set of paper grocery bags? None.

Energy to make and ship this new bag made by a fur hag?
