Pamela Anderson’s Meaty Dilemma Over New York Strip Club

April 17th 2009

anderson_streakPamela Anderson is on-board to celebrate the opening of a new strip club — which normally we wouldn’t even think twice about. However, as TMZ notes, this new club is also part of a New York steakhouse. What’s a vegetarian-promotin’, animal-lovin’ gal like Anderson thinking? PETA weighs in saying,

“Pam is not a host but may be attending as an invited guest, and since steakhouses nowadays have some of the best salad bars and veggie options around, we’re sure she’ll find plenty to eat should she attend.”

True, but she’ll still be helping to promote a strip club inside of a steakhouse — so it’s not like she’s just stopping in for a light dinner and a lap dance.

Plain and simple — Pam needs the cash. Apparently, PETA is giving her a Get-Out-Of-Jail-Free card for the evening.

  1. Salad bar? Salad bar?! She can have the salad bar? Oh, bite me! Take your salad bar and SHOVE IT!

And veggie options in steakhouses? Yeah, right.

  2. So Michael questions Pam Anderson choosing the veggie option at a mainstream restaurant, suggesting it’s anti-vegan…

while on the same day, Parrish praises Kathy Freston for supporting the vegan options at mainstream, non-vegan restaurants.

Is it time for a battle of the Ecorazzi bloggers?

IMHO, non-vegans don’t generally eat at vegan restaurants. But when non-vegans see that vegans can eat well at mainstream restaurants, even steakhouses, it shows them that being vegan is really quite easy. That’s a good thing.

What good is there in keeping veganism as some sort of elitist, members only club that is inaccessible to the masses?

  3. Matt, Parrish and I will duel with pistols at dawn.

But seriously, this isn’t some restaurant that Pam just stopped in at to eat. She’s instead promoting a strip club inside of a steak house. Just seems a bit odd for Pam to do so — since most people who go there will probably buy meat — and a lap dance.

I agree with all of your other points.

  4. DUEL DUEL DUEL DUEL DUEL!!!!!

  5. I don’t think she should be punished. Seriously now, I’m vegetarian and I eat at Burger King. Yes, I’ll only eat the Veggie Burger with a side salad but some could point out that it’s still Burger King and it still kills millions of cows and chickens a year to keep business rolling.
But I’m not buying the meat-based sandwiches but people still think badly of me buying non-meat products there.
So Pam Anderson goes to a Steakhouse Strip club thing. She obviously is going to support the strippers but most people don’t care. Unless I hear her say I love steak or see a picture of her holding up a plate of steak then I’m not going to assume she is there for the steakhouse part.

  6. Actually, Matt, omnis do eat at veg*an restaurants, although part of it is me dragging family members there. But here in DC, much of Java Green’s clientele is non-veg.
