If you ask me, Ecorazzi and VEGdaily have some of the coolest, thoughtful, heartfelt readers on the web. I’ve met so many of you at parties, rallies and events all across the country and know how truly awesome our community is!
Today I’m writing an extra special post about a vegan hero who needs our help.
Chuck Pappas begin working at Farm Sanctuary in 2005 as the Fulfillment Coordinator in Watkins Glen, NY. According to his friends, Chuck is a vital part of the sanctuary and has played an active role in improving the lives of so many abused animals.
In March, Chuck was diagnosed with brain cancer and has already spent over two weeks in the hospital, had more than a dozen MRIs, been operated on twice, given six prescriptions, and will now have titanium plates in his skull for the rest of his life. With Chuck out of work indefinitely, the medical bills are piling up fast. His emergency flight from Ithaca to Rochester was not covered by insurance, and the bill for that single item is about $10,000.
Luckily, Chuck has an incredible group of family and friends who will be walking (or biking) from the Taking Action For Animals Conference in DC to the Farm Sanctuary Hoe Down in Watkins Glen, NY to raise money for his recovery. And they need YOUR support!
We know that the economy is going through it right now and that many people have little to spare, but even 5 or 10 dollars would make a huge difference and help a man who has spent so much of his life helping others.
If you can, take a moment to visit GiveForward.org and show Chuck that you care!
