Paul McCartney Urges Pamela Anderson To Promote Vegetarian Diet

Paul McCartney has written to Pamela Anderson urging the former Baywatch star to help him in promoting vegetarianism. The two-page letter goes into great detail on the effects of livestock on the planet, climate change, and health and well-being. Paul wrote: “The Food and Agricultural (FAO) brought out a major document in 2006 titled ‘Livestock’s Long Shadow’ which clearly brings out a clear message that the single most effective act that any individual can currently perform to lessen the emissions of greenhouse gases is to become vegetarian or reduce meat consumption.”
Maybe I’m the only one, but, um, why send this letter to Pamela? She’s been a vegetarian since her early teens and a staunch supporter of PETA. I mean, this isn’t some kind of “Hey, we admire the work you’ve done — let’s join forces to continue it!” but more like a “Did you know?” that a non-vegetarian should be reading. Also, the letter starts of with “We are sending you this letter” but is signed only by Paul in the end. Who’s the “we” here?
I need some coffee. Check out the full letter over at Pamela Anderson’s official site.

Hi Michael,
Actually if you look just below Sir Paul’s signature you’ll see it is also signed by R.K. Pachauri. That’s Dr. Pachauri the Nobel Prize winning scientist Dr. Rajendra Pachauri. They are doing a campaign together. See this article for more info which I’d read recently. Yes I know, I read way to many ecoceleb articles! scary
But it pretty much comes with my job!

Why Pamela Anderson? People don’t take her seriously, there are plenty of respectable veg*n celebrities out there but it always leads back to Pamela being the poster child for animal rights.
I guess I’ll never understand Pamela’s appeal, I may be overlooking something.
What frustrates me that Paul is not vegan but rather vegetarian. I can’t understand why.
Maybe he is the type of vegetarian that tries to avoid milk and dairy as much as possible but when he consumes dairy or eggs it comes from a free range place.
And vegetarian is better than nada.
Some vegetarians won’t drink milk or eat eggs, but may consume foods containing them. And doesn’t Pamela Anderson already promote vegetarianism?
I think Pam won’t do it. She’s had too much meat in her diet if you know what I mean.
Yeah, I’m disappointed in her … money talks, I guess. We need some “real” vegan poster celebs … people that aren’t wishy washy.
probably Pam attended a steakhouse open party.
