Conservation International will honor television host Anderson Cooper and CNN’s Planet in Peril Team  on May 21st with the Global Conservation Hero Award for their commitment and action toward a healthy, secure planet for all people.

The award will be given during the organizations 12th annual fundraising dinner at the American Museum of Natural History. About the honor, Conservation International says:

“Cooper and the Planet in Peril Team have been at the forefront of CNN’s provocative and inspiring reporting on the global environmental situation, and their penetrating coverage of climate change, deforestation, species loss, and conflict over natural resources has reached widespread audiences with a critical message that nature is essential to humanity’s wellbeing.“

Tickets to the event will fund Conservation International’s important work and are available HERE.

Go, Andy Coops!

Why Vegetarianism Makes No Sense From A Moral Perspective

I don’t consider my years as a vegetarian as a stepping-stone or prerequisite to veganism

I hope I win the ‘Pig Farmers of Tomorrow’ contest I entered (I’m vegan)

I think I’ll likely have the most interest in pigs of anyone applying, anyway.

Hopefully Jon & Tracey Stewart use their new farm for vegan education

They’ve promised classes on caring for animals and sustainable agriculture, so vegan 101 would be a great place to start.
